The Hebron Alden Greenwood Fire Protection District has been in existence in various forms since 1900. The district boundaries as they are today were established with the merger of the Hebron Fire Protection District and the Alden Fire Department. In 2002 the district assumed the duties of providing emergency medical services by merging with the Hebron Rescue Squad.
The District as it is today provides services to approximately 53 square miles of Northern McHenry County. Our district includes all of Hebron Township, 1/2 of Alden Township, 5 square miles of Greenwood Township as well as 1 square mile of Hartland Township.
Within those 53 square miles, we provide a multitude of services including fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and technical rescue, as well as providing emergency medical services at the advanced life support level. To provide these services, we operate 10 apparatus out of our station located at 12302 IL Route 173 in Hebron. This station houses our administrative offices, training areas, as well as areas for our station staffing.
